Rain is the only source of water  for the people of Tokelau.

The seven minute documentary highlights the many challenges’ in areas of water harvesting and health for the tiny nation.

“The initial focus for Tokelau was its coastal areas, but it shifted to water resource management initiated by a state of emergency drought in 2011”, says the Project Coordinator, Mrs Jewel Luti Toloa Tuitama

“The project has been committed towards strengthening water availability and making sure water infrastructure is resilient to changes in climate at both the household and community level”, added Luti.

“The project at 75% completion improves rainwater harvesting and guttering in each household, expands rainwater harvesting infrastructure and reducing leakage of water systems and storage”.

Launching ceremony is to take place at the Apollo Cinema, Apia on the 1st December 2014.
